WHAT IS VOLKSFEST ONTARIO ?

Volksfest Ontario is an annual outdoor non-judged European car and motorcycle show. It is one of the coolest European car events in Canada. It is held once a year a short cruse from several area cities including Ottawa, Montreal, Brockville & Cornwall. The event is held outdoors, and takes place regardless of weather conditions. Access for spectators is FREE*, and it is a relaxed, family friendly event.

*When Volksfest Ontario is paired with another event, there may be an admission cost if the other event has an admission fee.

VENDORS

Every year we have a good assortment of vendors for your air and water cooled dubs.

This line up includes rust free panels and parts from Volkswagen parts, engine parts, t-shirts and knickknacks. A list of the vendors can be found in the sponsors section.

TYPES OF CARS

There is only one requirement to participate: Own a European Vehicle. That’s it! Each year, over 350 cars participate in the show, and there are no specific requirements to participate.

You will see cars of all ages and types including classic air-cooled VWs (Beetles, Buses, and Kharman Ghias), modern VWs (Golfs, Jettas, Rabbits, Scirrocos, Corrados and Passats), classic and modern Audis, BMWs, Mercedes, Porsche and even rare Euro motorcycles.

As of 2017, Volksfest Ontario has open its doors to ALL EURO brands of cars and motorcycles. So, if you own any European vehicle, you are invited to join us for a day of fun, music, food and cars!

VOLKSFEST ONTARIO HISTORY

What started off as a small show in 1987 has blown up to be the largest non-judged European car show in Canada and North Eastern US. Members of the local Capital City Volkswagen Club got together and started the show off.

After a couple decades and many venue changes the show has grown into a relaxed event where everyone can relax and enjoy many pristine dubs without having to stress out over shining, cleaning and keeping “the Judges” happy.

This is truly a people event where good friends and great stories are just as important as having a nice ride.

With the hard work and dedication of Laura and Bob from Capital Dubs coming to an end in 2010, members of the local Ottawa-Vdub scene stepped up to the plate in 2011 and took over the show to keep it going with a volunteer group from Ottawa-Vdubbing.com, Club Volkswagen de l’Outaouais, Capital City Dubs and the Cornwall VW club.

Historically, Volksfest Ontario was primarily a VW car show, but in 2017 it expanded to other German brands such as Audi, Porsche, Mercedes and BMW. Now Volksfest Ontario welcomes all European cars to attend.

In 2019 the organizers announced that due to a personal move out of the area, a new organizer would be needed to keep the show alive. In 2019 a VW Baja owner was encouraged by his enthusiastic son to take over the reins and continue the show in 2020.
